Haptics are commonly used in the fields of gaming and research, but never before has a haptic material been used suggested as an injectable material for consumers.

In the patent application, Nokia describes this as a "perceivable impulse," explaining that their device would be "capable of detecting a magnetic field and transferring a perceivable stimulus to the skin, wherein the perceivable stimulus relates to the magnetic field."
